The Terror of the Bananas 🍌

Just finishing up my second week in Honduras. πŸ‡πŸ‡³ Things have been going pretty smoothly. We spend the first half of the day doing personal, companion, and language study. Along with a couple of other things to get ready for the day. After that, we usually go get lunch, before heading out to teach people. We teach till about 6 or 7, then we return for dinner and then hit up one or two houses after before calling it a night. 🏑

This week we went shopping on P-day, and bought some cereal, milk, and bread. πŸ› Along with a few small snacks. We usually have cereal or toast for breakfast cause it's easy and quick, but we plan on making pancakes one of these days. πŸ₯ž We also went into town and got some Popeyes. That was pretty good. Also, apparently every few weeks they do companion exchanges for a day. So I ended up spending a day with Γ‰lder Balsells. It was different, because he is more in the city area and has an apartment instead of a house. πŸŒƒ There were also a lot less people willing to hear our messages than here in El Por Venir. It was ok though.

I've also gotten to try a bunch of different foods here. I don't hate any of them yet, except for fried bananas. 🍌 Those are gross and squishy and sweet, and make me gag, so i can't even force them down like other foods I don't like. Normal bananas are just fine. I also tried a sort of Oatmeal Smoothie. It was okay, It could use some work. I've also tried beleadas which are amazing. They're basically a tortilla folded in half with beans, cheese, and sometimes other stuff like eggs. 🀀 I've also eaten spaghetti, rice and sausages mixed together. 🍝

I also got to help some guy with cutting branches and got to use a machete. πŸ—‘ That was fun to use. We also lost water for a day or two, along with power, but that only went out for an hour or so. πŸ’§ πŸ”‹ wasn't that bad, we just had to use reserve water we had stocked in water bottles. I think our water returned Sunday, late afternoon or so.
